Teaching is an art. While completing my teacher certification at The College of Idaho, I also conducted research and completed coursework to earn my Master's degree. Classroom motivation has been a constant discussion, as has the benefits of extra-curricular activities. I wanted to know if the two had more in common than being constant discussions. My driving question became "Do athletes view a college education as being more important than high school students who don't participate in sports?" Through the research process, and conducting my own study I found that more often than not, if a student participates in sports in high school, their grades are higher and they perceive a college education as important more so than their non-athlete counterparts.
As I finish my thesis I will upload it here, but it is currently a work in progress.
